Care Instructions

Every piece from Audrey’s Craft Studio is handmade and designed to be enjoyed. Following these simple care instructions will help protect your resin artwork and keep your piece looking beautiful for years to come.

Resin is durable, but like anything, it will last longer when properly cared for. Below you’ll find specific instructions for each type of product, but the basics are simple:

Hand wash with mild dish soap and a soft sponge, then dry right away.

 

Wood-based Boards

Our wood and resin boards are made for both serving and food preparation. The resin-finished front is best for serving and presentation, while the fully sanded, uncoated wood back can be used for cutting and food preparation.

·       Hand wash with mild dish soap, warm water, and a soft sponge or cloth.

·       Dry immediately, then allow the board to finish air-drying upright.

·       Do not soak or place in the dishwasher.

·       Avoid abrasive scrubbers, harsh chemicals, bleach, and alcohol-based cleaners, as they may dull the resin.

·       The resin is scratch-resistant, but like a countertop or plastic board, deep cutting or hard chopping will leave a mark.

·       The resin is heat-resistant - not heat-proof. A hot cup of coffee: YES! A hot pan from the stove: NO!

·       Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, which may affect the resin colors over time.

·       When the wood begins to look or feel dry, apply food-grade mineral oil or board conditioner to the clean, completely dry wood. Do not use cooking oils such as olive or vegetable oil, as they can become rancid.

 

Slate-based Boards

Slate is naturally durable, but it can chip or break if dropped or struck against a hard surface. Handle your board carefully, particularly around the edges and corners.

·       Hand wash with mild dish soap, warm water, and a soft sponge or cloth.

·       Do not soak or place in the dishwasher.

·       Avoid abrasive scrubbers, harsh chemicals, bleach, and alcohol-based cleaners, as they may dull the resin.

·       The resin is scratch-resistant, but like a countertop or plastic board, deep cutting or hard chopping will leave a mark.

·       Highly acidic foods such as lemon and soy sauce may lightly stain or discolor the slate.

·       The resin is heat-resistant but not heat-proof. Do not place cookware or pans straight from the oven or stove on the resin.

·       Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, which may affect the resin colors over time.

·       Natural slate may vary in color, texture, edges, and surface markings. These variations are part of the stone’s natural character.

 

Resin Glassware

·       Hand wash with mild dish soap, warm water, and a soft sponge or cloth.

·       Do not soak or place in the dishwasher.

·       Avoid abrasive sponges, harsh chemicals, bleach, and alcohol-based cleaners.

·       Do not place resin glassware in the microwave, oven, or freezer.

·       Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, which may affect the resin colors over time.

·       Small variations, textures, or tiny bubbles are a natural part of handmade resin work and make every piece one of a kind.
